PERMANENT EXHIBITION

Osuna, Sevilla, "Los Patios"
This work by Júcaro captures a moment charged with symbolism and emotion in the passageways of the historic Plaza de Toros of Osuna. The image is composed with a pronounced depth of field that guides the viewer’s gaze along the curved corridor, creating an almost cinematic sense of immersion. In the foreground, two picadors salute the audience with a solemn gesture — a gesture that evokes tradition and the ritual of bullfighting. Their silhouettes, outlined against the light streaming in from the arena, merge with the shadows of the passageway, creating a powerful tonal contrast.

The photograph stands out for Júcaro’s unmistakable style: precise framing, a delicate treatment of natural light, and a sensitivity to detail that transforms an everyday scene into a poetic document. The texture of the whitewashed walls, the metallic sheen of the horse’s protective armor, and the warm ochre of the earth create a restrained yet deeply evocative color palette.
Faithful to the artist’s visual language, the image does not merely document; it interprets the bullring as a space of emotional transition, of anticipation and reverence. The work is part of the permanent collection of the Museo de Osuna, where it engages in dialogue with other pieces celebrating Andalusian culture and identity.

Jerez, "Morante"
Morante de la Puebla is a work by the photographer Júcaro that transcends portraiture to delve into the intimate essence of bullfighting. The image focuses on the bullfighter’s hands, rested yet heavy with memory, transformed into a symbol of craft, tradition, and the silence preceding action.
The restrained composition and black-and-white treatment reinforce the timeless quality of the scene. Every crease, every mark on the skin speaks of years of dedication, risk, and artistry. The hands, more than an anatomical detail, here reveal themselves as bearers of the bullfighter’s gesture, composure, and contained emotion.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS

Córdoba, "30 Años de Alternativa"
The Taurine Museum of Córdoba has the honor of safeguarding the photographic collection "Lances de Puño y Letra", a deeply personal exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of Juan Serrano “Finito de Córdoba”’s alternativa, a key figure in the history of modern bullfighting and an aesthetic reference for several generations.
This exhibition brings together a carefully curated selection of intimate and artistic images that trace both the performances during commemorative events and the less visible moments—those lived away from the public eye: the solitude of the dressing room, the slow preparation, the moments of concentration, the serene introspection of the bullfighter who gives himself not only to the bull but to his own inner demands.

"Lances de Puño y Letra" was born from the profound mutual admiration between bullfighter and photographer, a bond based on respect for art, time, and authenticity. Its aim is not the spectacular, but the truthful. Each photograph is a fragment of memory capturing not only Finito’s figure in the ring, but also his humanity, his aesthetic commitment, and his way of inhabiting bullfighting with elegance, restraint, and mystery.
This collection is not intended for public sale. The works it comprises hold strong emotional and sentimental value, both for the bullfighter and the photographer. They are pieces born from intimacy and trust, meant for contemplation rather than the marketplace.

The milestone of these 30 years has served not only to pay tribute to a unique career, but also to weave new connections between generations. In this regard, special mention must be made of Júcaro, the artistic director of the commemorative poster and a steadfast promoter of the participation of young talents from the Córdoba Bullfighting School, integrating Finito’s legacy with the future of Córdoba bullfighting.
"Lances de Puño y Letra" is an exhibition that moves, reveals, and honors. A visual journey through the sensitivity and truth of an unparalleled bullfighter, told from a place of closeness, respectful gaze, and commitment to beauty.

Boston USA, "Mozo de Espadas"
As part of the international exhibition bringing bullfighting culture to new audiences, the Hilton Hotel Boston (USA) hosts this work, which subtly and profoundly reveals one of the most intimate gestures of the bullfighting ritual: the placement of the manoletina by the mozo de espadas onto the bullfighter.

This image, with its carefully composed framing and restrained lighting, is far more than a dressing room scene. It condenses the essence of a discreet yet essential relationship in the world of bullfighting: that of the bullfighter with his mozo de espadas, the silent companion who shares routines, breathes the same nerves, and inhabits the same rituals before every performance.
A gesture often overlooked, here it takes on a deeply eloquent dimension, charged with tradition, intimacy, and truth.
